MRI
Please notify the Center prior to your appointment if you are claustrophobic, or if you have any of the following:

Pacemaker
-
Aneurysm Clips
-
Metal Fragments
-
Any other medical implants not mentioned above
MR Cholangio-Pancreotography (MRCP)
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before the exam.
CT
Abdomen/Pelvis:
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight or 8 hours prior to exam.
All Other Contrast CT’s:
- Nothing to eat or drink 4 hours prior to exam
ULTRASOUND
If your procedure is listed below and requires special preparation, please follow these instructions. All other Ultrasound studies require no preparation.
Pelvic or Obstetrics
- Female patients must drink four 8 oz. glasses of water one hour before the examination and should not void.
- The bladder must be full for your examination.
Gallbladder/Abdomen
- The day before your examination, eat a light fat-free dinner. Do not Eat: eggs, butter, fried or fatty foods.
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight or 8 hours prior to exam.
Aorta
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight or 8 hours prior to exam.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / FLUOROSCOPY
Myelogram, Arthrogram, IVP
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight or eight hours prior to exam. Fleet Kit necessary prior to IVP.
PET/CT
- You are required to fast four (4) hours prior to your appointment time (absolutely no food or drink other than water)
- You may take any medication you need to take with water.
- If you are diabetic, please notify us upon arrival to the imaging center.
- Please drink extra water the night before the exam and the day of the exam.
- Refrain from heavy exercise 48 hours prior to the scan.
- Please wear warm comfortable clothing preferable with no metal (zippers, rivets) or jewelry.
- You can expect to be in the imaging center for about 2 hours.The actual scan time is variable depending on patient size but usually lasts about 30 minutes.
- Following the exam, you will be free to leave and conduct normal activities.Continue to drink water for a couple of hours following the test.
- Your results from the PET/CT scan will be available to your physician within 24-48 hours after the exam.
- Please arrive on time for your appointment to ensure the injectable glucose does not expire.
*** If for any reason you are unable to keep your PET/CT appointment please notify us 24 hours in advance to avoid a $300.00 dose charge.
